Founded and built by me.
Founder
Surf gear, from name to factory floorThe Surf Sherpa.
It started as an idea, not a company. I took it the whole way.
The real problem
Surfers want to find the best wave and stay out there the longest. The gear that gets you there should make that easier, and look like it belongs at the beach.
The call I made
Keep the brand and the product in the same hands. No logo stuck on someone else's gear. If I was naming it, I was making it too.
What I built
The concept, the name, the tagline, the logo, the copy and the website. Then I designed and manufactured the products themselves: a surfboard sling, a surf hat and a surfboard cover.
The words
Go where the wave takes you.
Fun and vibrant, the Surf Sherpa line is made for the surfer who wants to find the best wave and be out there the longest.
Then
The Surf Sherpa joined the line at Salt & Reverie, my surf company, as a fun, vibrant range ready for shops to stock. One person accountable from naming to the factory floor.
The lesson
When the same hand makes the brand and the product, they speak the same language.
